So with it being ‘firework weekend’ and all that Jam, our friends David and I headed into Oxford to do the obligatory ohhing and ahhing over the South Parks fireworks. We met David at 2.30 in Oxford so therechance for a couple of drinks and some nibbles before the main festivities kicked off.
Our first venue of choice was the Oxford Branch of Freuds, this stands pretty much parallel to my work & although I got told it was a work hang out before I joined non of my colleagues had ever invited me. So we headed there, the building itself is an old church and retains much of the spectacular glass.
We wanted to stay for some food (they do mezze style dishes) but alas we were too early so we headed to another local tapas bar instead. Full off food we started the long walk to South Parks, the weather was freezing & I wished I had double the amount of clothes on (I think it probably didn’t help that the fireworks kicked off late and the epic bonfire wasn’t lit until the end). I tried to capture some of the fireworks on my camera (never tried this before as I thought they would be too quick) but it seemed to work, so here is the display in pictures, enjoy!
