Today is the first day of December, hurrah! Already in this house the inevitable has happened…
Yes its up & Witchcat has already tried to climb it twice, but as yet has been unable to topple it (already we are doing better than last year). The other main reason I’m so glad to see December is that it signals the end of November, or Movember to those males brave enough to be growing facial hair. Middle brother Kip has been ‘competing’ for the last 5 years but this year saw a new face join the ranks.
(Jam giving it some ‘blue steel’). His work mates entered as a team so November saw all of them shunning razors and in Jam’s case the start of a small but ferocious hedgehog occupying his top lip (unfortunately he asked what I thought of this look, I could only reply that I feared it made him look slightly spivish & I feared he would try and sell me a used Metro….).
(Just thinking about the commission in this photo obviously). If you would like to sponsor his hairy efforts the website is here.
This weekend has passed in a bit of a blur as we spent most of it in Newbury catching up with Jam’s old school friends for a pre birthday meal and drinks. Fantastically Ben & Jiwon made the journey up from Boscombe and it was fantastic to see them again. They have also promised to come & stay now we’ve cleared out our spare room. So we look forward to seeing them in 2014.
